Win a Week’s Holiday at
Vila Senhora da Rocha
A competition will be held from the 1st February 2008 until the 31st October 2008 for the best photograph taken whilst on holiday at Vila Senhora da Rocha. The topic for the photograph will be “Why I Love Portugal”. It does not have to be of Vila Senhora da Rocha and can be any photograph taken whilst on holiday there. The prize will be a week’s free accommodation in a 2 bedroomed apartment/villa to be taken by the 30th June 2009.
The rules for entry are as follows:-
- One entry per family staying at Vila Senhora during the period 1/2/2008 to 31/10/2008.
- The entries to be submitted as digital files as attachments to e-mails, in either .jpeg or.gif format, sent to competition@vila-senhora-da-rocha.com , or as printed photographs sent direct to COMPETITION2008, Vila Senhora da Rocha, Apartado/P O Box 2, 8365-909 Armação de Pêra, ALGARVE, Portugal. Please include name and address, period of stay at Vila Senhora da Rocha and apartment/villa number plus a brief description of where the photograph was taken.
- The submission of photographs, either electronically or as printed copy, will give Vila Senhora da Rocha the right to display them on their website, www.vilasrarocha.com .
- The best photographs for each month will be displayed on the website and, during November, an independent judge will decide the winner.
- The closing date for the entries will be the 12th November 2008.
- The winner will be notified shortly after the end of November, and a photograph requested of the winning family, which will also be displayed on the web site.
- The organisers’ and judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into with regards to the selection of the winner.
The winner of the photographic competition for 2007 was Santiago Quierzo who submitted the picture below of the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rock as the sun sets. This year the photographs were judged by Mr Geraint Roberts, Architect and Photographer of Newtown, Wales who stated that the picture "was a sharp, nicely composed photograph with the calm sea and the promontory looking a safe warm haven".
